You hear the crowd applaud, the announcer speak. Sam stands backstage. She is almost up. She recites the lyrics over in her head. As she waits for her turn she pases and glances at everyone else backstage and then down at her self and thinks "Why am i doing this" But before she could think and longer the Announcer caller her name, she slowly walks out to the stage. She waves to her friend and stands in the middle of the stage. She nervously holds the microphone and waits for the music to begin. Once it does she starts to sing.

Sam takes a Bow and waves to her friend wail they stand and applaud her. She has a huge smile on her face. She can't believe how good she did. She then handed the Microphone back to the Announcer and walked off stage.

Sam woke up on Wednesday Morning to her alarm on her phone. It was playing SuperGirl by Saving Jane. The same song she had sang yesterday. She smiled and rolled out of bed. She glanced in the mirro and said "Aaaa You and i have a lot of work to do" She laughted at herself and then walked into the bathroom to take a shower.

Carmen's alarm clock broke the calm silence of her room at exactly seven AM. She groaned and lifted her head to look at the time before turning it off and dropping her head back to her pillow.

"¡Oye! ¡Carmelita! ¡Levántese o usted será tarde para escuela!"

(Hey! Carmelita! Get up, you'll be late for school!)

"Sí, Mamá..." she whispered into her pillow.

"Carmelita? Are you awake?" Her mother asked with a thick Spanish accent. She opened the oak wood door to Carmen's Hawaii-themed room and stared down on her daughter.

"Yes, Mom. I'm awake."

It was the routine. Every morning it was the same thing. Carmen had noticed this the week after she started high school last year. Now, Mama left and she slowly dragged herself out of bed and down the hall to shower. She used the best shampoo and conditioner in the shower, which just happened to have the intoxicating scent of wild strawberries. It really smelled good, and the scent suited her. After she was out of the shower, she dried her hair, not bothering to straighten out the natural waves of her Spanish background. She applied black eyeliner where it was supposed to go, not on the eyelid like her younger sister, Sierra, did. Soon, she went back to her room and finished applying her make up before slipping into a pair of tight blue jeans and a black button-up shirt with sleeves that came to her elbows. The shirt was loose-fitting, but still tight enough to show off her curves, and it was especially tight around her chest.

She admired herself in the mirror next to the front door, before pulling her hair back into a messy bun and running out to catch the bus.

Sam dried and straightened her hair before she ratted the back and sides so that is puffed up. She then grabbed her makeup bag and pulled out her cover up and quickly applied it to her skin. She then grabbed her mascara and applied it, putting on 3 or 4 layers she wasn't counting. She then did her eyeliner, putting it on a little to think but thats the way she liked it. After her hair and make up was done she walked out of her bathroom and pulled on her favorite skin tight light blue skinny jeans and a gray pull over shirt with a rib cage on it and a heart in them. She then walked over to her shoes and grabbed her cowboy boots, And headed down stairs.

The bus was crowded and stinky as usual, which was always the downpoint of Carmen's day. She silently cursed the Heavens breifly in Spanish before the arrival of the bus to the school.

When she got off the bus, she went straight to the change room and changed into a pair of red shorts and a grey t-shirt, then went out to practice on the track as much as she could before school started.

Sam Grabed her backpack and opened the front door and yelled to her mom "I'll be home late don't worry" Before she slammed the door and made her way to school. She strolled in through the huge marron and silver doors of the school, waved to a few people and headed to her locker.

Carmen looked down at her watch, then went back to the change room, showered, redressed and went out to her locker. Routine, as usual.

Sam walked to the back of the school and up the marron and silver stairs to the 2nd floor. She then headed down the farthest hallway and then down a few rows of lockers before she came to hers. She turned the dial to the correct combo and then pulled up on the lock and opened her locker. She put her bag in and then grabbed her first period binder.
